Context (7): Constructing Proposals for Centres of Excellence

a) A Poisoning Control Center (PCC):

    • Many visits were done & are ongoing to Ain Shams PCC.
    • Making an agreement with the head of Ain Shams PCC to accept training our postgraduates & register their master degree.
    • An agreement to communicate & create a hotline between both centers.
    • Making visits to PCC in France through the cooperation signed by both universities (O6U & Limoges).

b) An addiction Rehabilitation Center

c) A Laboratory for Rapid Screening of Drugs of Abuse:
     The proposal is to screen drugs among the students & achieve a drug- free
      environment among students.
   
    d) Computer Lab:
     It was designed and accomplished and put in use in the academic year 2006/
    2007 to enhance students’ self-directed learning.

   e) Clinical Skills Lab:
     It was designed and accomplished and utilized through an excellent educational    
    program which I designed. Implementation started in the academic year 2006/
    2007. This program was approved by the University Council and involved in
    the faculty bylaws as a required course for receiving the bachelor award.

The programmes of the 3 courses included theoretical and practical training on Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC), Toxi-Lab. Drug Detection System, TDX, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), as well as, training on the conventional and recent extraction methods as Solid Phase Extraction (SPE).
